Cationic dye is a relatively environmentally friendly and harmless dye in our lives now, so many friends in life like to use it for dyeing. Next, I will show you how to dye with cationic dyes!

1. Dyeing method without adding retarding agent to control temperature

This method contains no retarding agent, but relies on a proper extension of the heating time to achieve the purpose of uniform coloring of the acrylic fiber. The temperature must be strictly controlled during dyeing. This method is suitable for relatively large loose fiber dyeing, rope printing and dyeing, and dyeing of wool and acrylic blended yarn. The dye in the dyeing bath is gradually absorbed as the temperature rises, which is convenient for overdyeing acid dyes and cationic softeners in the same bath for wool and nitrile blended products. Dyeing prescription can choose M-type or X-type cationic dyes with medium affinity, both of which can achieve evenness effect. Because the temperature must be accurately controlled during the dyeing process, the production equipment should be automatically controlled by a temperature program.

2. Dyeing method with adding retarding agent

Utilizing the blocking effect of cationic retarder on the acidic groups on acrylic fiber, the added amount of retarding agent makes the acrylic fiber reach an appropriate degree of saturation, hinders the absorption of cationic dyes, and achieves evenness effect for dyes with fast coloring and poor migration. This dyeing method is applicable to all kinds of acrylic fiber products. The characteristics of cationic retarding agent should be compatible with the K value of the dye. Sodium sulfate has no retarding effect on dyes with low K value.

3. Dyeing method of adding retarding agent and controlling temperature at the same time

This is a more widely used and reliable acrylic dyeing process. According to different types of fiber, select appropriate retarding agent and control temperature. Dyeing bath is cleaned at 85-90℃ or 90-95℃. This is an ideal condition for simultaneous shrinkage and dyeing of acrylic bulked yarn.

4. Dyeing method with anionic additives

An appropriate amount of anionic diffusing agent N and leveling agent O in the dyeing bath can change the ionization state of cationic dyes and temporarily lose the charge attraction to acrylic fibers, or directly use disperse cationic dyes. This method is conducive to acid dyes for dyeing wool and nitrile blended products or disperse dyes used for dyeing polyester and nitrile blended products.

5. Fast dyeing method with constant temperature

Add cationic retarding agent in the dyeing bath, and the acrylic fiber is dyed at 90°C. The dye adsorption and diffusion are completed in a short time at the same time, and the production cycle is shortened. The most ideal dyeing process includes dyeing temperature as much as possible, faster heating and shortest dyeing time. If the conditions are met, the quality can be guaranteed.
