Printing and dyeing auxiliaries can help fabrics effectively improve the effects of printing and dyeing. Printing and dyeing auxiliaries can be divided into two categories: printing auxiliaries and dyeing auxiliaries.

Printing auxiliaries in dyeing auxiliaries

Printing auxiliaries use the film-forming effect of the adhesive to attach insoluble dyes to the fabric, thus achieving the purpose of coloring the fabric. Printing auxiliaries include adhesives, thickeners, cross-linking agents, emulsifiers, softeners, dispersants, defoamers, and so on.

• Adhesives: Adhesives are the main components of coating printing paste and also a kind of polymer film-forming material. They effectively adhere the coating to the fabric through film-forming. Therefore, there are requirements for the adhesive strength and reproducibility of the adhesive, so that the fabric does not change color or damage the fiber after printing, and also has a certain elasticity, feel, and is easy to remove from the printing machine.

• Thickeners: Thickeners are another important component of coating printing paste. They not only have the functions of coloring, thickening, promoting adhesion, and emulsification but also can make the printed fabric achieve more uniform and clearer patterns.

• Cross-linking agents: The main function of cross-linking agents is to help the adhesive's fixation ability, make the printing have better firmness performance, and can also reduce the baking temperature, which can be combined with actual short baking time. However, the amount of cross-linking agent should be appropriate, otherwise, it will cause poor hand feeling of the fabric.

• Emulsifiers: Adding emulsifiers during printing can obtain good emulsified thickeners.
